Centering Community Connection and Leadership Among Women Living with HIV

The Well Project is excited to launch our annual fundraising drive and provide insights into our work that builds connection, community support, and leadership among women living with HIV. As we reflect upon 2021, the second year of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, it is clear that the need for connection has never been greater. As many of us remained physically isolated from one another, it was essential to identify innovative ways for us to continue to be in each other’s lives and provide each other with much-needed support, as well as opportunities for growth. For this year’s Well Project fundraising drive, we wanted to highlight some of these efforts and hope you will consider making a tax-deductible donation to support them!

Reaching nearly four million people globally this year, The Well Project offered diverse programming that adapted to our continued “virtual” reality and provided opportunities for women to connect with and learn from each other, no matter where in the world they were. A few highlights include:

  • A Girl Like Me Live Live, our new bi-weekly, interactive, livestreaming series led by Ciarra Covin, cultivates connection as we advance health and wellness education among women living with and vulnerable to HIV.
  • The Well Project Leadership Exchange, which brings together experts from across our HIV community for riveting discussions that often uncover surprising connections.
  • Women’s Research Initiative on HIV/AIDS (WRI) convened two virtual meetings that focused on advancing research and policy for women living with and vulnerable to HIV and centering the needs and experiences of women living with HIV
  • Conference attendance and presentations: The Well Project provided multiple opportunities to attend and present at virtual conferences, enabling women living with HIV to connect with leaders and peers across scientific and advocacy spaces.

A number of our Community Advisory Board (CAB) members were kind enough to share their words about how The Well Project has increased their connection with other women living with HIV this year, including Bridgette Picou (above). Please click here to view them all, which we'll share throughout the fundraising drive.

Your tax-deductible donation will ensure that we continue to meet the needs of women living with and vulnerable to HIV, facilitate connection and growth, and provide tools and resources to improve overall health and wellbeing. Please support The Well Project today!
